sound isolation

yo, im thinking of recording vocals but i dunt know how to make them sound good. i see alot of people put up a blanket around the booth, is that a good idea, or should i get some of those acoustic isolation pads and put them on the wall. what do i do for the ceiling and the floor, i have carpet for my floor. does cup holders work like the ones in hustle and flow?

Dont worry about it. Just record them. You are gonna be close mic'd anyway so not too much room sound will be in there.

The mic and pre-amp is gonna make the most difference in your recording. If you don't have a mic I would suggest looking into Studio Projects...they make amazing mics for dirt. I got one with a pre for like 2 bills, it is a engineered copy of a 2500 dollar mic. As long as ther isnt too much room/computer noise this mic will do you just right.
