problems wit cubase audio

Can anyone tell me whut im doin wrong. I'm using cubase sx and when i open up my audio window everythings fine.But when i open up my mixer window for some reason the cliking sound of the window goes to the audio track. Not only that but the sound continues to rises steadily, almost like an effect was added that wasnt any suggestions?
