It's a good product, especially since they dropped the price.
Do you need 8 pres?
If not, then have a look at the Eureka from the same manufacturer, Presonus.

I'm looking into getting one myself except I have been unable to find that much info on it. I was at the presonus website specificly looking for firewire cards that were recomended by presonus but no luck. I'm gonna send them an email asking for the best card. I'm just trying to prevent those discouraging hickups in my DAW.
