i dont really get into plug-ins and what not when it comes to recording my beats from my MPC or vocals...

i'm looking for a good exterior compressioner for bass and drums, and vocals...

does that even exist, an all in one compression unit?

oh yeah, a really cheap price is always dandy... thanks!

for a cheap compressor have a look at the alesis 3630. can be silky smooth, or you can really make that sucker pump!

dont pay more than $100 for one tho.

um , the sound they put out i would say. like most things , you get what you pay for. your not gonna get much these days for $100 in the audio market.

The 3630 is great puchy compressor!
A tad noisy, but not bad.

Look into the Autocom by Behringer.
Not quite as punchy as the 3630, but damn close.
No noise.

The DBX 106A is a mono compressor which you'll find in every pro studio. You won't find a 3630 or an autocom in a pro studio.
So that tells you something right there.

All three are about the same price.

I've read some decent reviews on the RNC's, but don't know of anyone who actually has a pair of them in their rack.

Although they are mono, anything from the DBX160 range (160X, 160XT, or 160A) could be a good fit for you. Especially for Kicks, Snares, and Bass shaping. Like POMMON said... you'll find the DBX's in just about every major studio.
