Which monitors should I get?

I am looking at monitors just to use at home and I'm on a tight budget. I know many of you will probably say to save up money for better speakers, but I'm not a professional and do not plan to be and just want to do some casual mixing at my house. Here are the monitors I have found in my budget:

Alesis M1Active 520 USB Studio Monitors

JBL LSR 2325P 5" bi amplified powered studio monitor

Fostex PMO.4n Powered Monitor Pair

Has anyone had any experience in using these? Do you have any more suggestions that would be around this price range?

I would suggest getting the "beyerdynamic dt 770 pro" headphones. They offer perfect monitoring and don't come with a limiter like most low end headphones (that is a good thing).

Dt 770 are good headphones.But you should always listen you final mix at monitors.Headphones ONLY are not suggested for mixing and mastering!

Yes I agree. I only use headphones for composing basslines and adjusting the stereo seperation.

So if headphones aren't suggested for mixing and mastering, which of the previous monitors would you choose to do so?

I have the 8 inch JBL's .... they're dope.

Id roll with the JBl's out of that list.....if your buying them in store somewhere do a shootout with each of them....see what sounds the best.

I would suggest Beyerdynamics DT-990 Pro headphones and a pair of KRK Rokits or VXT's for monitoring.

JBL's are decent choice. I personally use Mackie MR5 and love them.

I got a pair of KRK Rokit 5s a couple of years ago and like you I was on a budget just wanting a nice set for home producing and I cant complain!
