mic stand & pop shield for condensor?

Just got myself a Rode NT-2 and I'm wondering if it matters what brand mic stand i get? What do you guys use, is Quicklock any good? Can you recommend specific models?

Also, i went to check out pop shields and those things cost a BOMB ! Does it matter if i use a wire and pantyhose cos that's what they look like!?
 
Low budgeet pop filters

The first radio station I worked at in the 70's used the panty hose around a round hoope wire and it worked fine in the production suites. I've also seen peeps use the wire grease splatter protectors that are used in cooking. Here is a link that actually mentions both of those ideas and is also pretty good for some vocal tips and tricks. Hope it helps ya.

:p LOL! I think that's d same article i read all those years ago and had forgotten about. Gawd knows i didn't think up the panty hose idea all by myself! :p :p
