Used dbx160.

-Hoax

Can you elaborate on this Hoax?.....I've heard good things about this piece, but can't seem to find one...But I have been able to find 160 xt's, 160 A's, 160 B's etc etc....And I dont really know which one is best or what their differences are when ive been searching...I think it has to do with updates from the original 160's over time (obviously), but doint really know what that entails-

Does it have to be within that price range?

DBX 286a ($199)
DBX 386 ($375)

I use the DBX 286, check the sound click to get an idea of what it sounds like.

The best compressor in that price range (and one of the nicest compressors period IMHO at any price) is by this small company FMR - it's called the "Really Nice Compressor", it's like $200. check out http://www.fmraudio.com - it's basically become a permanent part of my vocal chain. All of the vocals on the tracks Cipha and I did on the Nina Sky album went through this.

Exactly what i was going to recommend.

Good looking out.

Nothing under $1000 even compares to the RNC. There is no comparison. I wouldn't even bother with anything else.
