    This is what I have

    Computer and Software

HP PC 733 MHZ, 320 MB RAM, 40 GB HD
Zip 100, Sonar XL, Logic Platinum, Cubase VST 32
ACID 2.0, Fruityloops, Cool Edit Pro, Wavlab
    Halion... NI B4 Plug

    Hardware
Behringer MX2004A, Audix QM5 Mic, Roland SP-808 Groove Sampler, Roland XP-60 Workstation, Stanton STR-860 Turntable, 2 Crates of vinyl..

My questions.. 1: Can I use cubase to trigger drum samples that are already on the Hard Disk.. I have fruityloops, but I want something more open ended.

2: Can hallion be used as a "drum" sampler..

3: Will a midi interface alone ensure correct timing between my hardware, and software samplers, and VST instruments?

    All advice is appreciated..

you can use your sp 808 to trigger samples. a good midi fader is the yamaha 01v which can serve as a digi mixer also. its bout 1500 search for midi controllers. if i were you i would use winxp for a smoother run cuz its mad optimized for audio, logic sucks *** i iuse nuendo for audio. sonar is more for midi to me.
