making compressors

I know iv seen some web sites and manufactures that sell the parts to make your own tube pre amps, but i was wondering if anyone knew of the same thing for compressors and eqs either tube or normal or both. it might be some real fun making a compressor even if its not the best it will be fun and a learning experience.

just fond this book on what i was talking about looks very interesting.
