how would you do it?

hey all im new to the forum and i have a few questions.ive been in lots of bands and recorded in top noch studios dozens of times,ive also dapped into recording music with cakewalk and can use the program pretty good. but im still a newbie well experienced newbie.
so im in the middle of building my first studio,nothing major just something to through down some tracks when i feel creative.my question is how would you guys hook up the stuff in my studio?
i have a compaq laptop and a m-audio 410 firewire soundcard and i have that figured out but what do i do with my bharanger sound board and 1500 watt power amp? how do i run my processers? and where do i plug in my monitors?through the mixer or the soundcard?can anyone help put me in the right direction?
 
thanks man now im on the right path.next,can you tell me were to plug my processers(vocal compressor,guitar fx) should i go through the mixer for additional tweeking or the soundcard?
 
Ok try this instead for more flexibility:

Mic to channel 1 (for example) input
Guitar to channel 2 input
channel 1 (mic) aux send to compressor in
compressor out to return1
channel 2 (guitar) aux send to guitar efx in
guitar efx out to return2
Soundcard out to tape in
soundcard in to main mix
amp in from control room
amp out to monitors
