I'M JUST WONDERING DOES ANYBODY KNOW ABOUT EM-U 1820M MASTER LEVEL RECORDING HARDWARE IF SO WILL IT BE BETTER TO USE THAT OVER CUBASE SX2 OR STICK WITH CUBASE! AND WOULD A SURROUND SOUND SYSTEM BE SUITABLE FOR QUALITY SOUND OR STICK TO MONITORS

I'd use it in conjoint with cubase.(If you already own a copy) But if I had to make a desision I'd go with 1820m OVER cubase because it's a hardware interface that'll benifit all my software.

Monitors or surround...i'd do a bit of both to be sure 5.1 systems aren't that expensive anymore, you could even go 8.1 or 10.1 for the same price if you wanted. But if your doing that kind of monitoring you should deal with the room space first.
