Hi

I have been making "live" music for some time now but i really want to record some stuff now.
But i need to know how to get this working.

I have an AKAI MPC2000XL
AKAI S3000XL
NordRack 2
Roland MC-303
i use my mpc to sync all my other gear and it works great.

But when it comes to recording my stuff i am just a beginner.
Should i record all my stuff into cubase and than just use the audio tracks to put fx over my audio.
I really need someone's advise about this...........

PLEASE HELP!

One word: YES !!

Got Cubase VST 5.0, learn how to work with (the basics), and you can start audio recording, adding fx, and (pre-)mastering.
=> mind this: get a computer with many power (Mac G4 or Pentium4 1,5 Ghz - 512 MB RAM) to work without any problems

=> personally I think good VST plugins are:

* Waves: "Gold Bundle" (a collecton of very high-quality fx)
* Sonic Timeworks plugins (a.o. a great reverb fx, also phaser, delay,...)
* iZotope: "Ozone" (mastering package, requires large computer-power)
* and many more...

any specific questions ? go ahead !!

Peace !!

P.S.: another option is harddisk recording via e.g. a Roland VS-1880, but that's many more expensive, and I think you have many more features with Cubase and VST plugins
