All I have is around 21 books about making music( sad to say I don't have beattips yet) Fruity Loops, Tons of sample Cds, technics turntable(no vinyl), and musical talent. But I need an MIDI controller and I want a motif es6, I will be getting these in around a year. But it's hard when you're only 13 and have to buy all your stuff, by yourself. My mama would probably toss me like 20 dollars every other month.

What's up? I'm rasembi and I'm new to the board. I'm pretty much a wanna be eventually gonna be producer but I've never owned a peace of equipment in my life, but I am extremely passionate about music. After some long thought I decided that I want to make an album. But there's one thing, I don't know where to start. My style will be kind of trip hopish kind of like Portishead or Morcheeba or even Thievery Corporation so I will need a workstation with those kind of sounds. I don't have a whole lot of money right now but I want a really good workstation to at least get started and add as I go. Can someone suggest a do-it--all workstation if such a thing exist that I could purchase. At the moment I'm willing to spend up to $3000 for one. Roland Fantom?, Korg Triton? Thanks for the help!!

Production:
mpc4000
soundforge
ak.sys
technics 1200 (which I'm borrowing from my mgr)
pair of Sony v600 headphones

Tracking:

p4 2ghz

I had a digi001, but my mobo isn't compatible w/pt so I had to sell it as soon as I got it..before that I had a omni studio...
Future upgrades:

2408mkIII
roland xp30
motif es rack
ms2000r

stuff I've owned:

roland a-37
korg triton classic
yamaha motif rack
