Gain issue

I don't grasp the concept of needing a direct box for recording with an guitar. What's the point of having a mixer if it can't be used to send audio to the computer>?
It sounds like you are saying the mixer isn't what I need......

I can hear sound through my computer and the levels are fine and they sound great, but once I record a track the end results are distorted.

I believe this is a gain issue not a signal issue.

What do you think???

And this made me notice that you have 4 threads that are about the same thing.

First your guitar is too low, then the signal is distorting, which would mean the signal would be too high somewhere. So which one is it?
