I use FL Studio 4 and I make beats for hip hop, rap, and pop artists... to me it really depends on what sounds you have. I have hundreds of soundfonts from a few dj's i know so its easy for me to use FL. Plus i've been using it so long and i know how to change sounds up, cut them, scratch, and everything else so it's really easy to use if you just play around with it.
