Does anyone have these? What do you think? I was looking at the Mackie 824s but they are too expensive since they put the THX logo on there.

I have a pair and I also really like them. I could imagine a better pair of monitors, I think, and I, too, was looking at the Mackies (2many$s). But for the money and the mix of types of music I deal with I think they're a good compromise for me.
Different folks like different speakers for different reasons -- and the kind of music you're dealing with can make a diff too. You should definitely listen to everything in your target price range as well as talk to engineers your respect (just to keep from going off the deep end on a pair of monitors you like the sound of but are not necessarily accurate.)
