Reviewed and read to have a knowledge of producing, I just picked up Beatips, from Superchamp, and I've gotten about 30 pages in, great study guide. Are there any other suggestions of books that should be read, for production techinques, ex. Music 101, sound theory, anything in general.

please help me, I've been reading books for a while but most don't seem to give me any type of insight.

Also
I'm looking to go to school for recording, the only thing is i haven't found 1 school in philadelphia or PA. I want to attend IAR in NY, but I have a child and it will be pretty hard just to up root everything, any suggestion would be appreciated, thank you.

I don't think this is what he's looking for.
I've owned several editions of this book over the years. Yes, it's a classic. Yes, it's great. But it's not a production tutorial.
Passman is a lawyer, not a producer. And his book relates to business, legal and industry concerns. Hence the word BUSINESS in the title.
