Best monitor speakers for House and Hip-Hop?

What would be the best monitor speakers in your opinon for mixing House and Hip-Hop? In a $300 range.

Save up for a couple more weeks and get the 8" fostex for 499$. They sound *almost* as good as mackies, and the difference from a 6" to an 8" woofer is pretty impressive... $300 wont get you very responsive monitors, but if thats your total budget Id suggest going to a store that sells different monitors and listening to find which ones sound best and will fit your budget.

Edit: mackies are $479 apiece.

Event Studio reference is king, but expensive.... check ebay for passive 20/20's- i got a pair for $200.

I'd really, really wait and get a setup with a sub. You want to create your music in a similar environment to what you want it to be played back in. Sounds like your mixing for the club, and having a sub in the mix makes a world of difference.
