$4000 budget on new studio wordplay or abs told me to come here

i got 4000 im getting an mpc2000xl thats pretty much all i decided on.



i have 4000 thats it i need everything i can get.


from the mic to the keyboard.


however i do have a pc and i have acid pro and i can get cakewalk.



any suggestions.
 
check out the post "starting a home studio" down a few posts. That person asked the same thing... except with a smaller budget.

I'd suggest the same I did for that person plus this:

sampler

2 small diaphragm condenser mics (for anything requiring stereo micing- acoustic guitar, drumset, room ambiance)
1 good vocal mic

that should be a good start for your mics. I think you can record almost anything with that. all your vocals with the vocal mic (duh.. hehe) and any instruments with the 2 condenser mics.

that might be a little over your budget... well actually maybe not, since you said you already have the PC.
