Usually when I write I brainstorm and come up with different words and phrases that coincide with the subject matter..Then I fuse these words together and create bars...For example: If the topic I would like to rap about is "The Third Eye" I would come up with words that relate to this topic. Some words and phrases I would use are "Chakra" "Higher Consciousness" "Enlightenment" and "Meditation"...Then what I would do is see how these words make sense together..For Example: "Higher Consciousness can be reached through Meditation/We manifest lessons of Enlightenment and Resurection/" Although I only used three of the four references I was able to write two bars...
I'm sure there are many emcees that use this technique...My question is this: Do you "connect the dots" a bar at a time, two bars at a time, or a breath at a time?
If my question or my message was unclear please let me know...Any thoughts, tips, techniques or input is appreciated..
