Topical: The River

One of my friends had music homework from college and he had to write a verse about 'the river'

he cant write, (he's a guitarist) i dont know why they gave him songwriting to do.

Anyway, heres what i wrote for him, it was only quick

drop your 16 bar verses based on 'the river'

lakes and waves are great and the river is wide
fishing is rife but water snakes slither and slide
i sit and hide feelings, no need to fear emotions
feeling the cool breeze you only get near the oceans
hear the motions of the water, the gulls in the sky
the river helps me to see my soul through my eyes
and the moon that shines on the surface at night
can help a person to find there purpose in life
sturgeons and pikes, swim underneath the ripples
darting around under the reeds like missiles
i sit dream and whistle, the rivers tranquil
i witness the movements whilst i sit or stand still
just dreaming of the future, watching the boats pass
fish dart around then disappear like a ghost dance
no chance of feeling blue, like the rivers water
i wish we had the rivers mentality and would quit the slaughter
