What era this song belongs to?

its got like a Billy Joel / the beatles solo project vibe. Almost like it came from the late 70's or early 80s with modern production.

It's a straight up pop song, and in that regard, pretty timeless. And this might be extremely picky, but the trem bar mini-dive deal in the intro doesn't really seem to fit. I'm also thinking maybe you save some of those guitar fills for later in the song so you can kind of build it a bit more, if that makes sense. Or in general, maybe pace things and start of with more simple instrumentation and build the song up more as you go along. There's also a 3 note guitar bit, you used right after "I get back up again," that seems pretty heavy handed. Otherwise, good job. If that's you singing, good job. Your voice has a nice pop-oriented quality that fits the song just right.

Cheers.
