West coast dr. Dre type beat |f4f|

First thoughts, you are not utilizing the full stereo spectrum, and thus the mix feels like its lacking any power. The pattern needs to be switched up or somthing, because the piano gets VERY repetitive. You should either get a different instrument or a different piano pattern for the verse, and maybe different percussion. Not a bad starter beat, but you got some work to do. Oh, and liking the scratches though.

I'm with Zacobe on this. Even a small, seemingly unnoticeable adjustment like different tone/velocity/patterns on a snare or high hat can make a big difference.

I also think it would be a good idea to add some bass/sub bass notes with a syth or bass or even the piano. Because at the moment, it sounds like that space is taken up entirely by the kick, while the piano stays static in the higher frequency range.

All in all, good start, but keep grinding to widen the track and add some variety.

Dope scratches and I like the piano chops. I do feel like this is dying for a bassline though to help fill it out. The mix also sounds pretty weak on my monitors. I feel like because there's so few elements, you don't really need to worry about panning anything, you could just mix it all mono. But I would like to hear stronger thumps in the drums and a more present piano. Other than that, I can vibe with this. I hear why you named it dre west coast beat. it has the drum patterns and piano's for the right feel. It lacks the sound choice and mix for the beat beat to be that hard thumping sound you need. The beat is full of highend maybe add some low end and mix it a little cleaner give each sound its own lane.
