Strange Beat

This is one of my latest beats, any criticism can help me to develop as a producer, so lets go!

The beat is definitely strange. I'm not sure I can say I like it. The large chords midway through (at the hook?) sounded MUCH better. I would have loved to hear that part explored more than the main melody that you ended up with. The drums that you used at the hook were much better too. It almost sounded like two completely different beats. I'd love to check this out again if you made changes to it and incorporated the chords as a main part of the song. Return feedback would be greatly appreciated!
 
Strange indeed. Quick tip: add some reverbs and delays on your sounds. They all sound a little dry, some effects would deffinitely improve the overall sound a lot. Also those piano chords stand out a little too much, maybe try to soften the sound a tad.
 
i was afraid that the bass will overlap the sounds, this was the main reason for me to turn it down, i will keep it in mind. thank you
