Abe used to rock these type-beats all the time. He would often practice important speeches to some drilling trap, br. The Gettysburg Address is a fine example of his “rhyme and switch” technique— Start with a fire beat, spit straight off the dome; then later replace rhyming words with non-rhyming words, and drop the beat altogether.

The Address originally began— “Four Score & Seven Years Ago, out the back door I ran, choppin’ wood, prints on the ceiling, now I’m the Man— 50 Grand...”
