Miss. Chi aka Ms. Betty Crocka | Major League

presents

Miss Chi, also known as Ms. Betty Crocka, is not a newbie when it comes to the rap game or the street game. Born in West Point, a small town located in North Central Mississippi, she was always surrounded around music since a child. Coming from a family full of vocalists, rappers, producers and entertainers, inspiration was not hard to find in one another. Luckily around the time that she discovered her musical talents, Miss Chi's brother, Shunn-B, was the C.E.O. of his own independent label, Currency Flow Records. However, success usually comes with a price and she experienced things that most people couldn't imagine. Her parents lived the street life and her father, heavy in the drug game, was sentenced to 11 years in prison. During this time, Miss Chi's mother then relocated her and her sister to Chicago, IL., giving her the nickname 'Chi'.
Traveling back and forth from the both states, Miss Chi spent a lot of time on the road and lived the fast life. At the young age of 14, she recorded and wrote her first song, "Sugar Daddy," which was featured on the radio in Mississippi. But it didn't stop there; her passion for music continued to grow. A year later she formed an all female group of rappers called Gangsta Misses. With little experience as a rapper, 15-year-old Miss Chi undertook the managerial duties, such as booking shows and scheduling studio times. Despite her effort to keep the group together, Gangsta Misses soon separated. Nonetheless, she did not let this keep her away from what she loved and decided to become a solo artist. Two years later, Miss Chi moved to the Gainesville, Fl., to continue her music in the Sunshine State.
In March 2007, she released her first mixtape, -N- Grind Mode, Vol. 3, hosted by Lokee Records in Mississippi. Though everything else seemed in place, the timing was wrong. Around the same time of the CD release, Miss Chi had her first child and promoting was difficult. However, she was able to establish connections with many prominent figures in the entertainment industry. She has collaborated with many people such as Country Boy, Magic 101.3's DJ Klarc Shepard, and C. Wakley, Blood Raw's former manager and one of the top record promoters in the South. The mixtape single "Juicey," which sampled the beat from Lil Will's hit song "Dougey," was played on the radio and buzz was generated in the streets. This unlocked other doors for Miss Chi and allowed her to open up concerts for artists such as Do-or-Die of Chicago and Chrome of Triple Six Mafia.
Never taking a break from grinding, Miss Chi wrote and released her first album "Major Leagues," which features 17 tracks of hot beats, catchy choruses and raw experiences. The single, "Got' Em Mad," was played on Magic 101.3 and was a hit. But success has not stopped there for Miss Chi. She is currently signed with Jas 44, an independent label in Atlanta, GA., managed by Derrick Lewis. She also will be opening up for Gucci Mane in April. Equipped with ambition, attitude, and talent, we can be sure that Miss Chi is here to play in the Major Leagues!
