I just asked for a simple example u tell me what to do briefly if you belong to the class of GURUZ in sampling this is just a one paragraph explanation because they dont have time for blahblah, and for the case of hardware sampler i dont like dem because i feel it is too barbaric to use them in the 21 century.
Pls give me a simple how to explanation of sampling using software samplers.
I came across this thread and had to reply.
First off sampling is an artform. You take a peice of audio and reuse it or rearrange it in a composition of your own. How do you do that? Well, take a piece of audio and load it into a sampler - since you want a how to of software samplers it's probably somewhere along the lines of File - Open. Your software sampler should have a help file attached to it that will tell you everything you need to know. I really don't know what else to say besides that. You're asking such a vague question...it would be like asking "How can i play drums like Jon Bonham or Keith Moon - someone explain it in one paragraph" on a forum on drums. I consider a sampler an instrument and if used with some skill and dedication it can be a very powerful and versatile instrument.
I also don't understand why you are so biased about hardware samplers. You said they are "barbaric" - what are you going to do? Sample off your iPod because records are barbaric and 20th century? The only real difference is with hardware you use buttons and in software you use the mouse and keyboard to control everything. My advice to you is to maybe do some more research on sampling before you start spending money and getting frustrated.
