Isolating Vocals (specific case - I know this isn't a new topic)

I know this has been asked before, on this board and others, but this case is a bit unique. I found the use in a movie, where the sound had already been changed from the original track. Somehow in the movie, they were able to dumb down the music and let the vocals stand out. You can hear the music there, but something was done to make everything but the vocal part really quiet. I'd sample it straight from the movie, but there is dialogue over the section. So, clearly there is a way to do this, but I don't know how. It doesn't need to be perfect, but there has GOT to be a way to quiet the rest of the track so that the vocals stand out. I know there are tutorials for REMOVING vocals in Audacity, but is there a way to remove the music? Doesn't have to be a simple process, this particular vocal is so inspiring to me, I just have to have it. Any thoughts on how to go about this?
