I hear a lot of people who stutter and glitch their samples nowadays a lot. Seems like that sound is getting more popular. I have tried some things myself every now and then and find Gross Beat in FL-Studio handy sometimes. Mostly I do this manually and cut up the sample and sometimes automate bitcrusher and other effects to make effects.
