Volume level while recording vocals

I have one last question regarding this topic, it is a stupid question but should the fader from the mixer of your DAW also be set to -18dbFS or should you leave it to 0dbFS?

Leave your master fader at unity gain which is 0dbfs. Also never put any other faders higher than the master fader.

~X~, sorry for my bad English, I was not referring to the master channel, I meant that when I am gain staging, and I configured the VU meter to -18db VU, and made sure that the signal doesn't peak above 0dbVU, should the fader of that channel [vocal] in my DAW also be set to -18dbFS while I am recording or should I leave it to 0dbFS?
