i was lookin at the maudio project mix to use with sonar. i need more ins and this doubles as mixer/controller which is a bonus. first and foremost i am looking for top quality digital recording. any thoughts on what other soundcards to look at?
also if i expand to recording vocals - should i invest in a dedicated mic preamp or just use the oneson the projetmix.
also i have a question on recording in stereo from my asr. what is the correct method to record a stereo sample? should i be recording onto two mono tracks using both the left and right inputs on my 0404 and keeping the asr track pan centered, and then panning the two tracks in sonar hard left and right - OR - should i pan my asr hard left and record on to one stereo track in sonar using the left input?
with synths - do they need to panned hard left when recording in stereo and mono?
hope this makes sense and is not a dumb question.
