Unknown Syle of sound design !!!

Im looking at identifying a certain sound in this track and how it is generated and controled ?

The sound comes in at 1:36 its like a pad noise with a rate on it i think , its got a sucking effect on it , i originaly thought this was the attack , but when trying to emulate using this method i dont get a similar sound , im trying to get movement in the sounds in my tracks , just using static instruments or samples just isnt cutting it sonicaly for me at the moment ..

Sounds pretty much like just straight ahead side chaining to me! Theres a world of tutorials and info on youtube etc

or classic gating using a positive going only ramp lfo to modulate gate on/off

sounds like a sample placed on a pad with a slight release boost
