Some mics are extremely sensitive and pick up just about anything.
I can hear people talking (a normal conversation) upstairs when everything is silent. Of course thats what the gate is for. Try turning your gain down a bit.
You JUST bought that mic didn't you?... When I just got my first condensor mic I had it turned all the way up was flippin out cuz I could hear everything in my room, in the other room, and people down the street mowing their lawns lol. Turn that thing down.
