I know many will get mad at me for asking but what are some starting points for hip-hop vocals as for as compressing, eqing and etc.? I know pre-sets aren't the answer. I'm looking for somethings to build on since I'm new to this end of things. Your help will be appreciated

I don't know if they'll get "mad" but there is truly no answer. You need to do what the track asks you to do. You need to listen to it and go "Hmmm... A couple dB of gain reduction and a wide 2dB cut at around 2.5kHz, and that's going to fit into the mix better."

If you're not hearing what the mix is asking of you, you need to gain experience until you do. Experimentation is key, but knowing how to listen is paramount.
