Sound Forge Recording Speeds...

I am trying to cut a 2 hour .wav file so that it will fit onto a cd.
I go into Sound Forge, make the cut and then paste it into a new file. The pasted file plays at a much faster rate for some reason.

Does anybody know how to correct the speed?

thanks,

u have to resample down to original 44.1k or 48k
48k played at 44.1 speed will speed up in soundforge
u are pasting a 48k or high rate onto a 44.1 or lower rate u see...
click on the record button and look at the rate 44.1 stereo or what ever.
there is a resample icon that will take down to lower sample rate....

bear in mind that you CANNOT record audio of a lower sample rate onto a CD for playing on a stereo. The stereo expects the data at 44'100Hz and if it aint? It plays back faster.

It'd work if it was played back using computer software which could detect the sample rate of the recording - but HIFI's can't!!!

It's under the RED BOOK audio cd standard - 44'100Hz sample rate. :D
