Record TT mixes on a computer with mp3

You can, so you will be able to record your mix in stereo in your computer as a WAV file (audio). Get a cable that will enable you to connect the LINE OUT of your DJ mixer to the computer LINE IN connector on the soundcard of your computer.
Then you will need a program to record audio.. Sound Forge would be great but it is expensive.. You can try with the WAV studio program that comes for free with your soundcard (maybe you dont have any, but hey look in this box again, there is generally a cheap one that will work). Cool Edit 2000 works too.
Anyway.. you will open this program and press RECORD. you will have many options (quality, etc..). Choose 44.1Khz, Stereo, 16Bit. This is CD quality. Make sure your computer "hears" the signal you are sending to its LINE IN.
To tweak the signals in and out of your computer, double click on the yellow speaker that's at the bottom right corner of your desktop. There, you can move the volume sliders of RECORDING and PLAY signals your computer hears or not.
After a few tests you will record correctly without any problem.

Audacity is a great free tool for recording your mixes. For connecting it to your pc, use a cable that connects to your mixer/controller output and goes in to your line in on your PC. If you open up audacity you can see a recording device. You should select that and then select your audio input. To hear your mix you can either use your mixer/controllers booth monitor output or go windows sound options and select recording devices. Double click your line in and select: listen to this device. That way you can hear your mix while recording. Be aware that publishing music/mixes you do not own the rights to is illegal.
