Question about active usb monitors

Yo! quick question, I'm planning to buy some Alesis 520 USB active monitors but I was wondering about how they would work with Cubase?

Would I just be able to just plug them into my USB port on my laptop and automatically have sound? I mean I know I wouldn't need an Amp because they are active but would I need a mixer or anything?

Well, your computer probably already has a soundcard in it of some kind. When you plug these in, you're effectively adding another output device. You'll likely need to select the correct output device for Cubase to use. Otherwise, should be pretty simple.
