Just starting to learn how to process stuff with EQ's, Compressors, and Delays etc... Tell me what you guys would do to beef up the mix in this situation. Especially Drums.

ALSO, is there any way to get rid of a phaser effect with some sort of anti phaser tool lol?? I didn't like how much phasing there was on the original rhodes sample.

Thanks!!

Dont worry about finalizing the mix before someone records over it unless it's not intended for vocals. Never listen to anyone who tells you to master your beats because beats intended to be rapped over SHOULD NEVER be mastered under any circumstances. For your drums there are a few ways to beef those up. Look up parallel compression on youtube for whatever program you are using to start and that will help you there. For the sample you are kind of stuck with it, you can tone it down some and tame it with a compressor also dropping the volume some can help. Its a pretty simple riff that you could just play yourself if it bothers you that much and most programs especially the fl studio, Reason & others will have a virtual Rhodes included.

Note to yourself & other beatmakers just get your mixes sounding as good as you can for display purposes and if loudness is important to you slap a limiter on your mix and put it up for display. Dont try to finalize or master your beats because the person who may record over them will never be able to pull off a professional sounding mix because you left them no room to do so and a professional mastering job is definitely out of the question if the door has been slammed on it before the recording even took place. People listen for the music and not the limiter.
Spread this info like the plague that made people think that they should be mastering their beats. This has got to stop.:4theloveofgod:
