    I usually EQ my drums, and sub lower than whatever my snares, and hats are since lower pitches travel at a slower speed than high pitch.

    Normally, the ears are better than a VU meter. Use good speakers or headphones and you don't care about db&Hz stuff

    I have stems to Another Life by Kream. They mixed their kick at -15 and it sounds is amazing. There's a lot of factors that come into play when deciding what level to have your kick at. What are you going for? How is the kick shaped? There is no right or wrong answer to this question.
