how do i split a song on yhe computer(seperate the vocals from the beat)

....There should be computer progs that use filters to do what you are asking, but I don't know the quality....but i'll give every poor mans Dj alittle secret....buy a Sega Saturn....its got three distinct features for its CD playback....first is it can add an echo effect to your music with adjustable degrees to how much....also it has a pitch shifter and not a fake one either....it keeps the Cd playing at the same speed and you cane makeit go lower or higher....pretty cool for such a cheap price and....it has a function to mute the vocals from songs....uh its pretty shoddy at doing that, BUT it does work on some songs quite well....there ya go
