How do I get my audio files from my SD card?

I was using my Tascam DP-008 EX digital recorder to record a bit of audio. I tried to transfer the info on my SD card to my computer but the SD card is blank on the computer. When I put it back in the recorder it shows me the files are still saved. Why isn't it showing up on my computer? The information clearly still exists. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

The computer does not recognize Tascam's proprietary format, I would guess. Leave the card in the unit. It must have a USB connection, yes?

Actually the format isn't proprietary; it's regular FAT32. The manual suggests connecting via USB, and the unit should show up as a regular external HD - but of course it's still accessing the same SD card, so dunno if it works. Anyway - make sure you format the card exactly as suggested in the manual if you haven't done so. And if everything else fails, you can probably record your tracks from the analog line outs to your audio interface.
