FL Studio exporting issue, please help!

Hello all,

having a major issue with fl 10 any help will be greatly appreciated!

The problem is when I export from FL, the audio loses about 9 db in volume. When playing the track or pattern in FL it sounds how it 'should' but when I export the file it loses volume.

To demonstrate what I mean:
1. I have a kick playing in FL (no effects on anything) it hits at -8db.

2. I export the kick as a wav on default settings.

3. I play the exported kick in FL and it now hits at -17db.

So after exporting it's lost about 9db in volume. !?

I tried exporting as an mp3 and it's the same.
Just to be clear this isn't a mastering issue, i am aware mastering brings the over all volume up, this is an issue related directly to exporting. Obviously I try to mix my beats so they peak at around -8db to allow headroom for mastering, but what's happening is far too much headroom being left due to this bizarre loss of volume when i export the track, resulting in the exported tracks peaking at around -17 which is not the desired volume.

Could this be a bug? Is my fl fucked? Has anyone experienced anything similar? please help!
thanks
