Hey guys,

Im trying to fade in my midi tracks in ableton 8. I need it to be a smooth, and perfect fade in without any bumps n the automation.
I cant seem to do that because when i try, ableton doesnt seem to connect the dots of automation resulting in a very choppy fade in. I gave you guys a pic to show you

Why don't you just put a break point in the start and end, and drag the start down so you get a straight ascending line until the end? I'm assuming that's what you've been trying to do by the looks of that automation.

remove all the points but the first and last ones in your automation curve
select the first point and adjust its position to the start of the scene you want to control
set its value to the absolute minimum you want as well
select your last point and adjust its position to the end of the scene you want to control
set its value to to the absolute maximum you want

you create the curve the same way you do in some advanced drawing packages - sets of points at predetermined levels - known as Bezier curves

Ah mybad; did not see it was ABL8. Not to self; read OP better.
Hopefully the technique is the same as he starts with a straight line in that video.
