Do your 808's suck?

Want to learn how to make them hit harder? By leaving a response I will know who wants this info and have a way to deliver it to those willing to recieve it...
 
You take your 808 bass kick, cut out some of the lower frequency, then with the layer kick (preferably a higher end kick with more smack), do the exact opposite of the bass kick.
For example: If your bass kick is at 50hz, cut out some of that 50hz and Q it 15%. Then with the layer kick, boost some of the 50hz and Q it at 15%<<<<this is just an example. Whatever you subtract to the bass kick, you have to do the same exact opposite to the layer kick by adding.
 
Yeah, it would have been easier to just lead with the super secret 808 formula. We were better off just using the search function to find the 1000 of other 808 threads.
 
any good mixing plugins to process low end/808s? I rmb hearing about something called R bass or something around that but I couldn't find info on it.
