Allright this is my first post. The name is Dominick Alexander Mendoza. My Brothers in Arms call me Dozer, My Lt. Calls me Ghetto Poindexter cause im so smart on alot of things from computers, photography, damn you name it, Ive read and studied it, yet im from the streets from back in tha day.
And have tha mentalaty, and bad spelling sometime.

Im an Army Infantry Soldier at war in Habbanayiah,Iraq. Bco 1-125 Inf attached to Aco 1-110 attached to the 2nd Marine Division. I have a bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering and working on my Sound/Music Engineering type degree/certification and doing alot of studying on Mixing and Master. Cause I will be doing my own Production.
Been doin music for awhile, but got serious about a year or so ago. Gots lots of Ideas for my genre. I am recording Rap/R&B. I will only be laying vocals to my beatz.

TO THE POINT ALLREADY
I was gonna go with either a Emu 1820M, or the Presonus Firebox. Ive heard some work on the Presonus Firebox, but not on the Emu. I had considered the Emu 1212, still doing research on if its got what I need. As you can see Im going Mixerless as they say. Anyway, here is my Ideal set up.
One from each group.

Recording Interface.
Emu 1820M
Emu 1212
Presonus Firebox

Mics (keep in mind booth size will be about 4'x6'with 8'ceiling, or a little larger, but not much larger)

Still shopping for an outboard compressor, im sure i will need one, cause sometimes singing will go from loud to soft on some parts. And I change my voice up on the track, and sound like someone else, so its very dyanamic. And of course your usual pop filter, micstand.

So to sum it up,
1) Which audio interface would you recommend from those listed? And since im only recording one source, my voice, to one track at a time, would the Emu 1212 work. I know it has the same converters as the Emu 1820M. Here is a technical site on it.

I believe the 1820M has more than I need. Also consider an outboard compressor in the chain.
2)Any comments on those mics listed.

Allright, GSpot Soldier..Out.. Oh yeah, im still thinkn of a stage name. haha, Maybe Dozer, shoot I dont know.
Holla Back Yall

I cant believe that all this time i thought the 48V Phantom Power acted as a PreAmp.hahaha Well that is because Ive done alot of research, but never actually done any real recording or setting up of this equipment. Ill manage on that aspect. So now im hearing Ill have to throw in a good preamp. So also a good preamp for under 500 to pair up to either one of those, if anyone has any Ideas. Man Im gonna go read some more on this preamp stuff.
