That's a terrible mistake, the sound quality will be trash. The easiest way is to plug the mic into an audio interface.

Well, it's not a terrible mistake per se, but the quality will probably be trash anyway The PC mic input theoretically is an audio interface with a mic preamp, but these things are literally worth something like $5 - so they're likely extremely noisy. It won't break anything though.
