I've got the Volca Keys... It's fun to mess with but haven't used it on a track yet...

You've got a MIDI 'in' and a minijack headphone 'out'... That's pretty much it...

So so the answer is no.

The MPK25 has a standard MIDI out & the Nio is a basic interface with line-level inputs. So the answer is yes.

Hey guys got my volca, but how on earth do I get this beauty setup, see the prob is I got it of friend so no manual and no cable, if someone can tell me what I need to get it connected to laptop/pc novation nio and akai mpk25 I will be very thankful

Since the only audio output of the Volca is the headphone out, you'll need a 1/8" minijack cable to whatever's on the other end - the Nio has RCA inputs (the same as your basic home stereo). So something like this:

If you want to sync the Volca's sequencer to your DAW, you'll also need a MIDI cable from the Nio MIDI out to the Volca MIDI in. If you want to play the Volca with the MPK, you'd either connect it directly (MPK MIDI out to Volca MIDI in), or more sensibly (meaning you'll probably want to use the MPK for other things as well beside the Volca) MPK via USB to the computer, and then route the MIDI via your DAW to the Volca (again MIDI out from the Nio to the Volca).

Hey guys got my cable just need to work out how to set up everything, so I can start recording, whats the software settings in say ableton to get setup and my gear routed if necessary

new setup, again

got my volca cable, now how do I setup my gear in ableton, I would if possible like to use the volca in reason or ableton, I also have a novation nio, akai mpk25 and a large master keyboard, what is the best setup options for this gear and software settings.

Please help ive been struggling at this for a while now

Thanks guys

You should be able to record the Volca simply by connecting the audio cable to the Nio & selecting the appropriate input in Live (for an audio track, that is). If you want to sync to your DAWs tempo, connect a MIDI cable from the Nio's MIDI out to the Volca MIDI in & select "sync" from Ableton's MIDI preferences for that MIDI port. That's about it.
