Purpose of "Zone" in DJ Mixers?

I see some DJ Mixers come with "Zone" outputs, the older Furman DJM-8 has Zone 1 and 2 outputs, can anyone tell me what the the purpose of these zone outputs are please? Thanks.

I've never heard of that before, but I'd imagine it's has seperate levels for two different outputs so you can have a main out and a booth out

Its just another output. Its usually used in club applications to send the music to another location, i.e. you use the main outs to the main floor and the Zone output to the VIP room.

Another useful application is in a studio setting - you can send the Zone output to your studio monitors and the main output to whatever recording device you are using.

I generally use one for the main out and one for the booth monitors so I can hear my live mix better
