Need Help on getting fan buzz as a Producer

I am a fairly new producer and I was reading on google what a producer could do to get his/her fan buzz up. Although there was some helpful information I would like to hear some personal experiences on how producers got their fan buzz up. Any insight will do. Thanks in advance.

I know it sounds like a cliché and you may have read this a thousand times already, but I honestly think the most important thing is to have good music. All the hype in the world won't help if the music isn't there. Gotta have a steak before you hear a sizzle

You need decent music for a positive following firstly but before promoting it then branding is essential.
