How to get a crunchy fat snare?

i can do a decent bit of synthesis now,i can make some drums now and 8bit shit but i cant make a fat snare.

basically i was trying to make a snare that sounds like somebody getting kicked extremely hard(sf4 makoto ultra soundeffect) im trying to create that type of smash snare any clues?

If i want a snare to have that extra crunch i layer it with a snare i sampled from some vinyl and add a touch or distortion.
